Keybird X1

The Keybird X1 piano has been designed from scratch with the clear goal of achieving beautiful acoustic sound in a lightweight, economical, and compact solution.

My responsibilities included industrial design followed by in-house manufacture and some content creation. The clear performance and economic constraints meant that we built a design language that was very pragmatic and minimal.

Specifically, I helped develop the key and action casing in addition to the sustain pedal mechanism and removable legs.

I have fond memories of nights listening to the warm tones of acoustic pianos and it is easy to see how this product will spread warmth wherever it calls home.
